Online Business Systems is a back office system used by some Herbalife distributors. You commonly see them advertising on job sites like Monster.com, and CareerBuilder.com. I would stay far away unless you have a great desire to sell Herbalife products and if you want to do that, then bypass Online Business Systems completely and just sell the product without their expensive back office. I've known a number of people who used this system and some did OK with it, but generally most of them felt it was too expensive. Many that I knew personally who went this way felt pressured to buy their way into a supervisor position and to purchase expensive business leads to jumpstart their business. And here is some more information: Online Business Systems asks for $39.95 for their 'decision package' which is a glossy brochure, a DVD of some superstar space-commander type talking about what a great opportunity it is, and a VHS tape doing more of the same. Nowhere in the material is the name of the company. After you receive your super-duper glossy nothingness, you will be called by your Herbalife contact and will eventually be told that you would be dealing with Herbalife if you decide to proceed. At that point, if you go forward, you will be presented with the choice of either joining as a simple distributor or you can get the super-duper Online Business Systems for your own use, at about $399 for the privilege. This will get you a copy of the OBS training manual, a pass to one of Herbalife's training sessions, another several videos, some Rah Rah buttons and a selection of product samples. At this point, you can now build your online business with OBS. You will still need to come up with a retail site for your business (not included), a merchant account (not included) and you will still need to pay $39.95 per month if you want to use the back office software to track your leads and use their super-spiffy auto-responder system. So, if you're still keeping track, on top of your $399, you will also have your merchant account costs, plus the $39.95 for the back-office, plus whatever it costs you monthly to set up a retail site. So, we're probably up to at least another $100 a month, above and beyond the one time $399 that you paid to get started. Now, add on their leads package that you are strongly encouraged to use. That's another $500 for a slot on one of the ad wheels that OBS is so fond of, but of course they won't make any guarantees whatsoever about how many leads you might actually receive and whether there will be any quality to those leads. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it! If you want to sell Herbal Life products, then go ahead, but skip the OBS!
