Why do People Use the Search Engines They Use? I ask this question because I was looking at the statistics of my website and I noticed that although most of the incoming views came from Google. However, once in a while I will get a visitor that comes in from another search engine. For example, I had one that came into one of my sites through DogPile.com. I hadn't seen this one in a while so I decided to take a look. Have you actually looked at the results this search engine gives you? There are sponsored ads mixed into the results. They use the same font and everything. I don't know about you, but I find that really annoying. I much prefer the Google way that has ads off to the side, or at least the ads that appear above the results are highlighted in a different color. I know that some people are averse to using Google, and go looking for alternatives, but Dogpile is not theĀ only search engine that hides ads into the results of a search. Can anyone tell me why people use search engines that give watered down results by putting ads?
