Home Family Baby Nibbler - Must have for babies

As a father who has a baby who is teething, I just wanted to let everyone know about this wonderful product. I am totally endorsing it, it gets used everyday.

The product is made by Nuby, and it is called the Nibbler.

Here is a link to it on the the Nuby website: Nibbler

As you can see, it is a simple thing, basically a handle with a removable netting attached. You can fill the net with all kinds of food that you would not be able to necessarily give a baby for safety reasons.

For example, what we do is fill the net with frozen blueberries, and let our baby suck on it. The net keeps the blueberry skins from coming out. You can do the same thing with apple pieces, pears, carrots. Instead of having to mash everything up, the net keeps any pieces from causing a choking hazard. this way you can feed your baby different foods and get him/her accustomed to different tastes before they get older and into a food fusiness stage.

Because our parents live far away, we find ourselves on long car rides. The baby has to be strapped into the car seat for a while and obviously gets grumpy, especially when the teeth are about to come out. As we try to keep the baby pain medicine to the minimum, we fill the net with ice cubes. Not only does it keep the baby satisfied (and quiet), but it numbs the gums as well.

The net is a nylon fiber so it doesn't stain easily. To clean it, you just take the net out, invert it, and put it under running water. You kind of have to rub it with you fingers to get the little pieces of food out, depending of what was in it. It is not really difficult to clean. You can put the handle part in the dishwasher, but I find that it is not necessary as it can be rinsed off in the sink.

Anyway, there are alot of products marketed to parents nowadays and many of them are very gimmicky, but this really is a good product and I have found it very helpful. I would not endorse it otherwise.

I have a link to it on amazon below, but I bought mine in a CVS pharmacy store. (I actually I bought two of them.)

If any other parents have used it, or if any one has questions, don't hesitate to comment below.
